  • Monitoring and evaluation of health systems to improve equity, access, and quality of health care services.
  • Application of various strategies to identify health and public health problems.
  • Understanding of key labour legislation impacting the South African employment relationship.
  • Demonstration of the ability to lead and function effectively within group/team work.
  • Display of leadership and management skills in evaluating public health studies.

Associated Assessment Criteria for Exit Level Outcome 2:

  • Design, development, implementation, and evaluation of a programme within the health sector.
  • Development and implementation of research projects, report writing, and presentation of research results in seminars and workshops.
  • Engagement in dialogue and debates on current health policy issues.

Integrated Assessment:

  • Application of the University's assessment policy to formative and summative assessments.
  • Requirement of a minimum of 50% in each module's assessment.
  • Assessment of research work in accordance with the University's policy.
  • Formative assessment methods including assignments, tests, projects, presentations, debates, dialogue, and workshop activities.
  • Conducting summative assessments at the end of each semester through the submission of a portfolio of evidence with no formal year-end examination.
