The purpose of the Bachelor of Information Systems qualification is to develop professionals in the Information Systems discipline, equipping them with necessary capabilities for the full-time workforce. The Bachelor of Information Systems is developed to replace the current Bachelor of Commerce in Information Technology Management. The industry advisory board recommended a more generic IS degree to allow learners to specialize in Information Technology Management at the post-graduate level. This qualification aims to enhance learners' knowledge, analytical skills, and applied competence in information systems development processes. It fosters intellectual independence, research abilities, and professional skills, preparing learners to contribute meaningfully to organizations' information systems development, acquisition, and utilization.
