Purpose and Rationale

  • Opportunities for recent graduates: The program allows recent graduates in the Natural Sciences without specific specializations as majors to specialize in various fields and improve their employment prospects, provided they have achieved at least a C aggregate in their first degree.
  • Career enhancement for employed graduates: Employed graduates can enroll in the program to further their career prospects by completing a Master of Science (MSc) Degree or a Post Graduate Diploma in any of the specializations on a full- or part-time basis.
  • Flexibility for experienced industry professionals: Experienced individuals from industry without a formal university qualification can enroll in the program to complete a Bachelor of Science (BSc) Honours Degree. Upon completion, they have the option to further enroll in a Postgraduate Diploma or the MSc Degree in any of the specializations.

Outcomes

  1. Execute geological projects independently.
  2. Write reports in areas of specialisation.
  3. Write a mini dissertation.

Integrated Assessment:

  • All assessments will be integrated, addressing real-life problems.
  • Continuous evaluation of mini projects, tests, theory, and practical examinations to solve real-life problems.
