The Bachelor of Administration (B. Admin) Honours is a postgraduate degree that aims to achieve the following objectives:
Problem-Solving Skills: The program will equip students with advanced problem-solving skills to enhance their abilities in promoting management, governance, and policy-making processes that are accountable, ethical, equitable, and sustainable.
Graduate Output: The program aims to produce a significant number of Honours graduates in management and governance to expand the local leadership base in South Africa. This will support the development of innovative and knowledge-based economic and scholarly activities within the country.
Through these objectives, the Bachelor of Administration (B. Admin) Honours program is designed to contribute to the professional growth and sustainability of management and governance practices in South Africa.
Problem-solving Skills: Political public sector problems are solved systematically and creatively through problem identification and analysis.
Resource Management: Political resources and processes in a public context are managed effectively, demonstrating a sound understanding of the subject matter.
Communication Skills: Own ideas and interests are articulated and promoted through effective oral and written communications.
Policy Development: Sound policy development competencies are demonstrated by producing sample policies that contribute to government initiatives.
The Faculty has implemented a Continuous Assessment System where assessment events are conducted throughout the academic year. A variety of assessment instruments such as tests, essays, practical reports, and project reports are used to evaluate students' understanding and application of the associated assessment criteria for the Exit Level Outcomes.
