Health Sciences and Social Services - Curative Health
The major purpose of this qualification is to provide a career-oriented, educational programme that will develop health practitioners on a theoretical, practical and evidence-based foundation for the delivery of safe, effective, evidence-based health care. It will further prepare them to deliver quality practice of Nursing Administration in a health care environment.
Nursing Administration is a specialist field that focuses on Health Service Management and Administration. The Health Service Managers will be able to deal with contemporary legal and ethical management issues, create culture sensitive work environments, deal with the shortage of health professionals and develop the ability to identify and interpret issues in shaping the future of health care services. The qualification will provide the qualifying student (the Professional Nursing Practitioner) with the further development of his/her intellectual, practical and reflective competencies/abilities (knowledge, skills, attitudes and values) as a Nursing Service Manager to promote the health of the individual, family, group and community as an active member of the inter-sectoral, multi-professional and multi- disciplinary health teams.
