The two-year integrated course work programme in Cultural and Media studies is an interdisciplinary programme covering the Honours and Master's degree. Developed after consultation with the media industry, the graduate programme's primary aim is to educate media professionals who will obtain the following skills and knowledge:
Critical conceptual skills: Students will develop the ability to think critically about media content, contexts, and effects. They will be equipped to analyze media texts and practices from diverse perspectives.
Strategic knowledge: Students will gain an understanding of how media, both deregulated and public service, interact with other social and economic institutions in the global information economy. This strategic knowledge will enable students to navigate the complexities of the media industry.
Skills in policy making: Students will learn how to create and analyze media policies, understanding the implications of different regulatory frameworks. This knowledge will be crucial for students interested in shaping media landscapes.
