Purpose and Rationale

Professional Qualifications:

Upon completion of the program, the learner will become a registered, independent professional who:

  1. Applies evidence-based physical and holistic approaches, incorporating core skills such as:

    • Therapeutic Exercise
    • Manual Therapy
    • Electrotherapy
  2. Aims to prevent and rehabilitate physical disablement, promoting and maintaining physical and psychosocial well-being in multi-disciplinary settings.

Outcomes

  1. Provide effectively physiotherapeutic management to a range of patients within the scope of practice.

Assessment Criteria

Integrated Assessment:

Formative assessment is provided through module tasks and group assignments. These assessments help students gauge their understanding of the topics covered in each module and provide opportunities for feedback to improve their learning.

Summative Assessment:

Summative assessment is provided through assignments and an examination at the end of each module. These assessments evaluate the students' overall understanding of the module's content and their ability to apply their knowledge to different scenarios.

In the final year, students are required to complete a research project as part of their summative assessment. This project allows students to demonstrate their research skills, critical thinking, and ability to apply their knowledge to a real-world problem.

Overall, the integrated assessment approach in this program combines formative and summative assessments to provide students with a comprehensive evaluation of their learning throughout the course.
