Purpose and Rationale of the Qualification

The primary purpose of this qualification is to equip learners with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively analyze, interpret, and apply management principles in the fitness and health, coaching, teaching, and retailing sectors within the Sport Industry.

The qualification aims to enable learners to make strategic decisions within a sports organization and to evaluate the impact of internal and external decisions on Sport Management. Furthermore, learners will be able to critically reflect on their managerial decisions and practices to assess their effectiveness within the broader context of Sport Management.

Overall, this qualification is designed to ensure that learners develop the applied competence needed to thrive in various management roles within the dynamic and competitive field of sports management. By providing learners with the tools to make informed decisions and evaluate their impact, the qualification seeks to contribute to the professionalization and success of individuals working in the Sport Industry.

Outcomes

  1. Demonstrate their ability to applying basic theoretical principles of problem identification and solving in the field of sport management correctly and reflect on the application made. (Problem-solving skills).
  2. Plan and apply basic research in sport management by gathering, analysing, synthesising and interpreting the information on sport management issues correctly by utilising the relevant theoretical research principles and reflect on the research undertaken. (Research skills).

Formative Assessment:

  • 40-hour internship assignment

Summative Assessment:

  • Three-hour written examination at the end of each module
  • Integrated assessment focusing on exit-level outcomes
