The B.Com (Hons) is a postgraduate degree program designed to achieve the following objectives:
Knowledge and Skills Development: Enable learners to acquire postgraduate level knowledge, discipline-specific skills, and applied competence in Commerce and Industry. This will not only support continued personal intellectual growth but also enhance their employability and enable them to make meaningful contributions to society.
Problem-Solving and Resource Management: Empower postgraduates to address commercial challenges in a comprehensive and targeted manner. They will be equipped to efficiently manage and allocate resources, communicate effectively, and contribute to socio-economic transformation responsibly and ethically.
Representation and Diversity: Increase the number of commerce postgraduates in South Africa, particularly from disadvantaged communities. This will ensure the strengthening and diversification of the leadership base in innovative and knowledge-based economic and scholarly activities, thus benefiting society as a whole.

By evaluating students based on the above criteria and through a variety of assessment methods, the Faculty ensures comprehensive evaluation of their understanding and application of Industrial Psychology in the public sector, as well as their ability to communicate effectively and contribute meaningfully through policy development.
