  • Reliability: Ensuring reliability in assessment from sample assessment to generalizing to a domain in a judicious and planned manner.
  • Standard and Level: Meeting the standard and level of achievement for NQF Level 7 (New NQF Level 8-PG1).

Associated Assessment Criteria for Exit Level Outcome 2:

  • Evaluation Basis: Supervisor evaluates student based on teamwork in research and completion of an independent project.
  • Demonstration Opportunities: Project write-up, oral presentation, and successful completion of written examinations to display applicable abilities.

Associated Assessment Criteria for Exit Level Outcome 3:

  • Independent Study: Capacity for independent study through satisfactory completion of papers and assignments.

Associated Assessment Criteria for Exit Level Outcome 4:

  • Pass Requirements: Minimum 50% pass in written examinations, technical skills evaluation, oral evaluation, and satisfactory written research presentation.
  • Integrated Assessment: Two 3-hour closed book examination papers covering syllabus sections with balance. Overall pass mark: 50% with sub-minimum of 45% for each paper.
  • Question Formats: Multiple choice, diagram annotation, diagram sketching, fill in the missing words, short answer, and essay questions.
  • Oral Examination: Minimum 30 minutes' duration with a pass mark of 50%.
  • Clinical Skills Evaluation: Evaluation based on diving associated medical emergencies.
  • Research Project: Completion of a research project presented in written format, showing potential for publication.
