The qualification of B.Pharmacy will enable the graduate to undergo a period of training as an intern in any of the different sectors of pharmacy. After successfully completing this internship and passing a pre-registration examination, the graduate can then register with the South African Pharmacy Council to practice as a pharmacist.
Upon registration, the graduate will be expected to uphold high standards of competence, professionalism, and collaboration with healthcare teams and patients. This commitment is essential in order to serve the best interests of the patient and ensure the delivery of quality pharmaceutical care.
Integrated assessment tools include the use of written and oral tests, formal examinations, vivas, assignments, case studies involving problem-solving, and the use of Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs).
