Purpose and Rationale

Program Objectives:
The Graduate Management Qualification aims to:

  1. Provide graduates with advanced knowledge and skills in various management fields.

  2. Enable graduates to pursue continuous personal and professional development, fostering economic growth, and advocating for social betterment.

  3. Produce a substantial number of qualified individuals equipped to assume leadership roles locally, fostering innovation and economic development at regional, national, and international levels.

  4. Prepare candidates for managerial positions, tailoring their training to meet the specific needs of businesses or empowering them to establish and successfully manage their enterprises.

Outcomes

  1. A Bachelor of Commerce (Business Management) graduate is able to identify, assess and solve management problems mainly in the corporate environment but is also able to apply principles in smaller enterprises, working effectively with others and communicating effectively. After two years: the learner will have a basic knowledge of the eight functional areas in business and able to work in any one of the areas in a large or medium sized enterprise.

  4. Business Activities: Identifying, evaluating, and executing functional business activities as required.
  5. Opportunity Identification: Demonstrating the capability to identify potential business opportunities.
  6. Business Establishment: Understanding the process of establishing a business.
  7. Managing Growth: Ability to manage and sustain business growth.
  8. Integrated Assessment: Demonstrating the ability to integrate various aspects of business operations effectively.
  9. Assessment Methods: Utilizing simulations, written examinations, oral examinations, and computer-aided testing for evaluation.

Candidates will be assessed based on their ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practical scenarios, communicate effectively, and demonstrate critical thinking skills in solving business-related challenges. The assessment will focus on evaluating both individual performance and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
