Law, Military Science and Security - Justice in Society
The purpose of this qualification is to provide learners with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills which are the foundation to enable them to enter the formal legal profession (e.g. attorneys/advocates) and other careers in law. This qualification signifies that the learner possesses the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to excel in the labor market.
The learner will be assessed through group discussions, dissertations, and an examination to evaluate their basic level of knowledge of principles of law. The assessment will focus on testing the learners' ability to solve typical practical problems encountered in legal practice. This approach will help learners develop problem-solving skills for situations not covered during teaching.
Assessment methods will include input from practitioners in the field of law, academic assessment by external examiners and moderators, and continuous evaluation of learners. The assessment criteria will include:
Integrated assessment methods will include portfolios, simulations, work-place assessments, written examinations, oral examinations, and external evaluation at exit level. Curriculum development will be done in consultation with legal professionals to ensure relevance and alignment with industry standards.
