Qualification Assessment

  • Each module in the qualification will consist of one long, two medium, or three short essays/projects.
  • Details for each module are provided in the outlines supplied.
  • One desideratum unique to this qualification is that most modules will include a reflective translation exercise of a key text into an African language.
  • All essays and projects will be based on work in African languages.
  • The focus at this level is more on essays and projects rather than formal examinations.
  • Integrated Assessment:
    • The research essay will be the integrated assessment.
    • Learners will showcase their ability to synthesize the main emphases of the qualification by selecting a specialist topic to research and write about.
    • This integrated assessment will account for 20% of the final qualification mark.
