Purpose and Rationale
The qualification will:
- Equip qualifiers with problem-solving skills focused on promoting accountable, ethical, equitable, and sustainable management, governance, and policy-making.
- Produce a substantial number of (honours) graduates in management and governance to expand South Africa's local leadership pool for innovative and knowledge-based economic and academic endeavors.
Outcomes
- Identify, analyse and solve Economic and public sector problems systematically and creatively.
- Acquire an understanding of how to manage Economic resources and processes in a public context.
- Communicate effectively, in oral and written modes, and to articulate and promote their ideas and interests.
- Understand and contribute to the socio-economic challenges of developing South Africa ethically and responsibly.
- Appreciate that policymaking contributes to the development of government at the local, regional and national levels.

- Manage economic resources and processes in a public context by demonstrating a sound understanding.
- Articulate and promote one's ideas and interests via effective oral and written communications.
- Demonstrate the contribution to Government by sound policy developing competencies by producing sample policies.
Integrated Assessment:
The institution has adopted a Continuous Assessment System. The assessment consists of several assessment events administered throughout the year. A variety of assessment instruments are used, such as tests, essays, practical reports, and project reports.
