Purpose and Rationale

Qualification Aim

The aim of this qualification is to offer learners the chance to expand their knowledge in Arabic within the Faculty of Arts. It allows for extensive reading, familiarity with classic Arabic texts, engagement with significant thinkers in the field, and participation in debates with confidence. The strong foundation built through this program prepares learners for postgraduate research. This qualification not only broadens but also deepens insight in the specified discipline.

Outcomes

  1. Demonstrate a broad and integrated knowledge of the current scholarly discourse in Arabic.
  2. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding through the reading and interpretation of classic and contemporary Arabic texts.
  3. Express Arabic abstract thoughts in a clear, logical and coherent manner in writing.
  4. Reflect the results of an independent Arabic literature survey on a selected topic in a balanced and coherent way.
  5. Demonstrate skills to engage in postgraduate Arabic research.
