This qualification will produce much-needed professionals to enter or to specialise in the fields of physics.
Research Mini Dissertation: The student is required to conduct a detailed research study on a specific topic within their field of study. This mini dissertation should demonstrate the student's ability to critically analyze literature, design research methodologies, collect and analyze data, and draw meaningful conclusions.
Oral Reporting: The student will be expected to orally present aspects of their research to a panel of faculty members or peers. This presentation should effectively communicate the key findings, methodology, and implications of the research study.
Regular Written Reports: Throughout the research process, the student will be required to submit written reports on sub-areas and subproblems of the research topic. These reports should showcase the student's progress, critical thinking skills, and ability to communicate complex ideas clearly.
Demonstrated Competence: The student will need to demonstrate competence in specific areas of the field under study through field and laboratory-based practical exercises. This may include conducting experiments, analyzing data, and interpreting results.
Group Work and Presentation Exercises: Collaborative group work is often an essential component of integrated assessment. The student will be required to work effectively in a team, contribute to group projects, and participate in presentations to showcase their collective findings.
By engaging in these various assessment methods, the student will have the opportunity to showcase their research skills, critical thinking abilities, communication skills, and teamwork capabilities within their field of study.
