The purpose of this programme is to train computer scientists with detailed technical knowledge required of software engineers. In addition to technical knowledge, this program aims to instil in learners an ability to learn independently and pursue advanced research opportunities.
Upon obtaining an honours degree in computer science, learners will be well-equipped to apply their knowledge in various sectors of the South African economy. However, graduates of this programme are particularly suited for roles in the telecommunications industry.
By focusing on providing a strong foundation in computer science principles and fostering independent learning skills, this programme aims to produce highly competent individuals who can excel in a competitive work environment.
