Physical, Mathematical, Computer and Life Sciences - Physical Sciences
The Bachelor of Science qualification has three primary purposes:
Personal Practical Experience: Provide the qualifier with knowledge and skills to identify, assess, and apply natural science principles in various career opportunities within the science field.
Research and Development Challenges: Equip qualifiers to meet the research and development challenges of globalisation by fostering a holistic approach to identifying and strategically solving real-life problems.
Manpower Development: Provide South Africa with qualified individuals capable of securing lucrative positions in both public and private institutions. This will help enhance economic and scholarly activities in the country.
An ongoing assessment of the outcomes will be performed through evaluation of assignments, writing, and oral presentation of seminars. The qualifier's ability to articulate learned skills, such as specialized laboratory techniques in Microbiology and related fields, will also be evaluated.
The final assessment will consist of the following components:
Four Written Papers:
Each paper will be three hours long.
