Purpose and Rationale

The Bachelor of Science (Hons) (Zoology) qualification serves multiple purposes:

Assessment Criteria

Assessment Criteria for B. Sc (Hons)(Zoology) Graduate

  1. The B. Sc (Hons)(Zoology) graduate will demonstrate the ability to select and use fundamentals, key concepts, and specialized principles in the analysis and interpretation of Zoological problems.

  2. They will apply laws and knowledge from major and specialized course fields to solve problems within those domains and will show proficiency in pursuing applications across disciplinary boundaries.

  3. The graduate will be adept at identifying and utilizing appropriate techniques and applications in solving basic and specialized Zoological problems. They will demonstrate the ability to execute basic and advanced experimental investigations, as well as undertake surveys and collections at a level befitting the degree requirements.

  4. The graduate will exhibit the skill to interpret their investigations by relating them to relevant comparative background information. They will be able to present their findings in verbal, graphic, and written forms, producing clear and concise reports on their investigations.

  5. They will conduct all investigations and surveys in a professional manner, adhering strictly to the principles of unbiased investigation using the appropriate scientific method.
