Purpose and Rationale

  • Enable students to acquire the necessary hydrological and hydrogeological skills required to solve problems related to government, commerce, and the management of natural resources.
  • Enrich students with fundamental hydrological concepts and skills/language for applications.
  • Introduce learners to the uses of hydrology in the water, environmental, and land sectors.
  • Demonstrate the importance, relevance, and utilizations of hydrological principles and skills for applications.
  • Provide practical training to students both in the field and within the Department.

Outcomes

  1. Identify, assess, develop and solve problems of Hydrological or Geohydrological nature.
  2. Relate, evaluate, interpret and apply Hydrological and Geohydrological concepts to actual life problems that may need hydrology-problem-solving techniques.

  • This will comprise a wide range of formative assessment, including:
    • Field-Practicals of Hydrological/Geohydrological nature.
