Physical, Mathematical, Computer and Life Sciences - Life Sciences
The qualification is designed to develop the knowledge, skills, and applied competence necessary to pursue a career as a professional scientist in the biological field. Students can choose to specialise in Botany, Zoology, Ethnobiology, or Conservation Biology. The program prepares learners to conduct research in various biological disciplines, including biological conservation, water resource management, biotechnology, indigenous technology, eco-tourism, and more.
Students will gain a strong foundation in the scientific method, with a focus on computer literacy, biometry, research project planning, execution, and reporting. They will also develop theoretical and applied skills within their chosen specialisation. The program will emphasize essential skills for effective scientific work, such as critical thinking, problem-solving, objectivity, teamwork, communication, and an understanding of fundamental biological processes and interactions.
