Purpose and Rationale

Goals of the Physiotherapy Program:

  1. Education and Training: The program aims to equip students with the essential knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to practice as Physiotherapists independently across various segments of the healthcare sector. Additionally, it seeks to foster opportunities for ongoing personal and professional development, as well as contributions to society.

Assessment Criteria

Assessment Criteria for Physiotherapy Programme

  1. Generic Outcomes Assessment:

    • Generic outcomes assessment is achieved as part of the assessment of specific outcomes.
    • The full personal development of the learner is achieved through educational strategies employed in the programme.
  2. Learner Abilities:

    • Discussing and clinically demonstrating physiotherapeutic management for a variety of patients within the healthcare system.
    • Recognizing cultural diversity and understanding relevant health policies for implementing rehabilitation strategies.
    • Acknowledging professional accountability and responsibility towards the profession and community.
  3. Assessment Methods:

    • Assessment is carried out using formative and summative methods such as clinical portfolios, simulations, workplace assessments, written, and oral examinations.
    • Planning, conducting, and presenting a basic research project in a logical and coherent written report as well as an acceptable standard oral presentation.
  4. Integrated Assessment:

    • The final clinical assessment at the end of the fourth year evaluates the integration of knowledge and competencies acquired in other programme modules.
    • Assessment of the written research report and oral presentation assesses the integration of knowledge and competencies acquired in the research methodology module.
