Purpose and Rationale

The qualification aims to provide qualifiers with specialised knowledge, specific skills, and applied competence in the field of investment management that are comparable to internationally set standards in the field.

The second purpose of the qualification is to produce several graduates in Investment Management in South Africa to ensure that the local knowledge-based investment and scholarly activity are expanding, thereby promoting increased societal productivity.

The third purpose of the qualification is to transform and address legacies of inequity by providing significant numbers of black investment managers and investment analysts.

  2. Obtain the fundamental and analytical skills required in Investment Management.
