Purpose and Rationale
The BA Honours English (Literature) qualification is designed to enhance learners' understanding of literature beyond the undergraduate level. By introducing them to the foundational principles of literary study and criticism as an academic discipline, the program aims to equip students with theoretical and practical knowledge that will serve as a strong basis for future studies in their chosen areas of specialization.
Upon completion of the program, graduates will have the expertise to contribute to various fields and serve society in a multitude of career paths. These may include roles in education, publishing, editing, public relations, television and film, radio broadcasting, tourism and conservation, advertising, journalism, internet writing, museology, public service, and law.

Assessment Criteria

Formal academic essays: Students are required to submit formal academic essays as part of their assignments. These essays should demonstrate critical thinking skills, supported by evidence from scholarly research. The essays should also be well-structured, clear, and coherent in terms of writing style.
