Purpose and Rationale

A learner who achieves qualifications in this qualification will be a competent reader, writer, and speaker in Afrikaans. They will acquire the ability to understand how language can be used as a tool of oppression or liberation in the broader South African context and beyond. Furthermore, a learner will develop the ability to conduct further research in the fields of literature and linguistics.

  3. Have limited specialisation in a given literary direction.
