Purpose and Rationale
Qualification: Master of Engineering
This qualification includes various specialisations in Engineering. Please refer to the "Notes" section for details on the specialisations.
Purpose of the Qualification
The purpose of the Master of Engineering qualification is as follows:
- To provide additional depth and specialisation in a number of engineering disciplines, in alignment with the needs of the South African and international industry as well as the engineering profession.
- To offer continued education at a postgraduate level in engineering science and technology for practicing engineers.
- To provide advanced and in-depth understanding and competence in various engineering disciplines, serving as preparation for engagement in masters or other engineering research programmes.
