The course will involve conducting fieldwork to introduce students to research methods. They will learn how to report their findings and how to select and analyze data effectively.
Students will also work independently to translate and interpret text from one Nguni language to another or from a Sotho Language to a Nguni Language. This will help them improve their language skills and understanding of different linguistic structures.
Students will compare the structure and meaning of South African folklore to gain insights into the cultural and historical significance of these stories.
The course will delve deeper into modern literacy theories, exploring how these theories can be applied to understand and analyze various texts and forms of communication.
