Purpose and Rationale

Purpose

  • All learners will take Public Administration over three years and receive three full years of education and training in this core subject.
  • Learners will also take Business Management across all three years as essential for functioning efficiently and effectively in public administration.
  • In the first year, learners will take a foundational module in end-user computing to use standard software for word-processing, presentations, and data management.
  • A second foundational module will focus on academic literacy for public administration, continuing through the second and third years.
  • Learners can select elective subjects like politics, sociology, psychology, and industrial psychology to complement core subjects and specialize in public administration.
  • In the third year, there is a focus on research to prepare learners to conduct research as part of a team.
