Purpose

The Bachelor of Education Honours in Comparative Education is the first Postgraduate qualification in education. The qualification aims to prepare learners for research-based Postgraduate studies in comparative education. By consolidating and deepening the learners' knowledge of Comparative Education and developing research capacity in its methodology and techniques, this qualification enables learners to engage theoretically and independently at a high level in research. It also empowers learners with the research skills, knowledge, and values necessary to effectively lead and manage schools. Additionally, it promotes teamwork in communities of practice and enhances the quality of curriculum delivery across the school system.

Curriculum

  • Formulate the research problem, aim, questions, and hypotheses: Students should clearly define the research problem, state the aim of the study, formulate research questions, and propose hypotheses where applicable.

Integrated Assessment

  • Formative Assessment: Includes proposal development workshops, submission of drafts, ethical clearance process, data collection procedures, and production of the mini-dissertation.
  • Summative Assessment: Involves assessment of the mini-dissertation by at least three examiners, with two internal and one external examiner providing feedback. Other modules are assessed through projects, presentations, and tests.
  • Moderation: Question papers and examination scripts are externally moderated after internal moderation to ensure fairness and accuracy in assessment.
