Business, Commerce and Management Studies - Finance Economics and Accounting
This qualification is the first qualification in the learning and career pathway for individuals aspiring to become Chartered Accountants (South Africa) (CASA). The qualification leads to an Honours Degree in Accounting, enabling learners to apply for practical workplace learning (articles) and eventually write the Board Examination. Successful completion of these steps leads to the awarding of the Chartered Accountant (South Africa) designation by the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA).
Due to a shortage of Accountants in South Africa, this qualification aims to develop highly skilled Accountants who can effectively meet the needs of businesses and communities. Learners will acquire a solid foundation in the knowledge, theory, principles, and skills of Accounting, Taxation, Managerial Finance, and Auditing. This will equip them to apply this knowledge in a professional accountancy and business context effectively.
