With various risks associated with sport and exercise participation, the need for professionals who can manage these risks and ensure fair participation is essential.

  • Access, process and produce, relevant information using well-formed arguments and appropriate academic, professional, or occupational discourse.
  • Use clear and coherent communication skills in a range of written and verbal contexts.
  • Use theories and principles of critical self-reflection to enhance the management of self and others.

Associated Assessment Criteria for Exit Level Outcome 5:

  • Analyse local, national and international sport structures to enable the management of environments and resources for a range of sporting contexts.
  • Analyse local, national and international laws pertaining for their application in a range of sporting contexts.
  • Analyse, evaluate and explain roles and responsibilities of various role players, stakeholders and structures in sports are in terms of sports and the systems in which they function.
  • Evaluate the socio-economics of sport are evaluated in terms of its effect on and contribution to society and the economy.

Integrated Assessment:

  • Examples of formative and summative assessment strategies that will be used throughout the qualification include: Written assignments, practical assignments, knowledge tests, case studies, class presentations, peer evaluations, simulations in structured learning environments, demonstrations, oral examinations, written examinations, practical examinations, report on research project, presentation of research results, case studies, and log book.
  • Integrated assessment will focus on the achievement of the Exit Level Outcomes, which will be conducted through written examinations, practical examinations, project evaluations, and final examination in each module and presentation evaluations. The theoretical aspects will be applied practically and learners will be required to apply their knowledge and skills gained from the various sub-disciplines of Exercise Science to solve real-life problems within the chosen environment and to design appropriate qualifications for clients.
