Rationale: This change aims to provide students with a comprehensive qualification that specifically focuses on Econometrics and Quantitative Economics, preparing them for careers in areas such as Banking, Finance, Insurance, Entrepreneurship, Education, Business Management, and Public Financial Administration. Additionally, it ensures that graduates possess the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in various fields related to Economics, promoting personal and professional growth and positive societal contributions.

Outcomes

  1. Apply the necessary Mathematical foundation to achieve a mature and enduring understanding of Economic Models and of the basic principles of Econometrics principles of Economics in particular, the Financial and Monetary Systems and Financial and Monetary Markets.
  2. Apply the skills and knowledge pertaining to quantitative methods required to comprehend Economic Models and Econometrics.
  3. Undertake analysis of different economic issues applying econometric techniques.
  4. Demonstrate an advanced understanding of mathematical concepts and techniques applied in economic analysis.

    • Apply skills, values, and knowledge related to monetary economics, banking, and business at all levels of organizations.

    • Demonstrate an understanding of monetary policy.
  4. Effective Communication in the Working Environment:

    • Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in the working environment.

Formative Assessment Practices:

  • Formal Tests:

    • Two formal tests per semester course.
  • Self-assessment (Assignments):

    • Work through simulated questions and suggested solutions independently.

Summative Assessment Practices:

  • Integrated Assessment:

    • Focuses on achieving the exit-level outcomes through a combination of summative and formative assessment.
  • Three Hour Written Examination:

    • Conducted at the end of each semester course.
