The Advanced Diploma in Quantity Surveying aims to provide learners with advanced knowledge in the Quantity Surveying discipline, empowering them to contribute significantly to the economy and national development through efficient resource utilization. Graduates will possess the skills to independently integrate quantity surveying principles, apply them effectively, and solve complex tactical problems. As building surveyors in contracting firms, they will safeguard the contractor's financial interests.
This qualification offers progression opportunities for individuals who have completed a first Diploma in Quantity Surveying to pursue further studies at NQF Level 7. Graduates can pursue careers as assistant quantity surveyors. Stakeholder consultations have endorsed the new Advanced Diploma, replacing the obsolete BTech degree within the new HEQSF structure. The introduction of this qualification bridges the level gap to facilitate postgraduate studies at NQF Level 8. SACQSP has provided support for the development of the Advanced Diploma, further reinforcing its importance.
