Business, Commerce and Management Studies - Human Resources
The Advanced Diploma in Human Resource Management (HRM) aims to deepen knowledge and competencies in managing human resources. It also aims to introduce learners with related qualifications and experience in managing human resources to a formal study qualification in human resource management. The curriculum is based on the Human Resource Competency Model of the South Africa (SA) Board for People Practices, covering advanced studies in human resource management, human resource development, employee relations, and business management. The integration of human resource management with organizational primary activities is emphasized. Additionally, the diploma equips learners with research knowledge and skills to address human resource problems and prepare them for further studies in the field.
This qualification targets learners seeking to advance their studies or those transitioning from other fields into human resource management. Aligned with the South Africa Board for People Practices (SABPP) (Human resource (HR)) Competency Framework and National HR Standards, the diploma ensures industry relevance and enhances graduate employability. The accreditation by SABPP enables qualifying learners to register as HR Practitioners upon gaining relevant work experience, addressing the scarcity of professionally registered HR practitioners in South Africa.
