Advanced Diploma in Management

Business, Commerce and Management Studies - Generic Management

Purpose and Rationale

Purpose: The qualification is designed to prepare learners with little or no management qualifications to function as managers. It bridges the gap between various fields and management. Additionally, it aims to equip learners for postgraduate studies by enhancing their knowledge and understanding of management principles and practices.

Rationale: The qualification was developed in consultation with the Advisory Board to address work-based and community-based issues. Benchmarking was conducted nationally and internationally to ensure relevance. The curriculum design, teaching, learning, and assessment methods are tailored to meet South Africa's socio-economic and industry needs, fostering active learner engagement. Graduates are expected to gain a competitive advantage in the management field.
