Agriculture and Nature Conservation - Primary Agriculture
The aim of the qualification is to expose learners to disciplines within the environmental sciences, providing a background in environmental management and skills necessary to address specific environmental questions faced by civil society.
Purposes of the qualification:
To provide learners with research and analytical expertise to process and interpret complex environmental issues.
To produce a cadre of young experts in environmental management in South Africa capable of assuming leadership roles in society.
To equip learners with real-life experience in environmental management to address local, regional, and national environmental issues effectively.
To offer learners a background in the relationships within physical, social, and built environments, enabling them to pursue further qualifications in appropriate postgraduate programs and widening the internationally recognized knowledge base in the earth sciences. This includes providing access to lifelong learning and higher qualifications in the environmental sciences, especially among previously disadvantaged communities.
