Purpose:
The purpose of Bachelor of Arts Honours in Sport Science is to provide learners with applied competence in Sport Science, including fitness and health, coaching, and teaching sectors of the Sport Industry. The qualification aims to consolidate and deepen the learner's expertise and develop research capacity in the methodology and techniques of Sport Science. Associated Assessment Criteria for Exit Level Outcome 2:
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills.
- Provide appropriate interpretations of issues and solutions in the Sport Science context.
Associated Assessment Criteria for Exit Level Outcome 3:
- Apply a range of research methodologies and techniques in Sport Science research.
- Discuss principles, scope, theories, and epistemologies in the field of Sport Science clearly.
- Make sound theoretical judgments based on current research evidence.
- Produce independent research results in a scholarly manner.
Integrated Assessment:
- Formative assessment includes practical and class assignments, essays, presentations, informal class tests, formal module tests, research leading to scientific assignments, self-assessment, and group assessment.
- Summative assessment consists of a written examination in each module.
- 50% of the final grade is based on formative assessment, and 50% is based on the examination.
- Learners with a final examination mark of at least 45% may be eligible for a supplementary examination in the relevant module.
