Law, Military Science and Security - Justice in Society
The Bachelor of Arts in Law qualification aims to equip learners with the necessary knowledge and skills to apply them in various branches of Law and humanities. It also aims to enhance personal intellectual development, facilitate economic activities, and promote community service. Additionally, the qualification serves as a foundation for further studies in Law or humanities, enabling individuals to pursue postgraduate qualifications. By integrating knowledge and techniques from human sciences and Law, learners will develop the skills needed to investigate human phenomena and address issues in the human sciences and Law fields.
The rationale for the Bachelor of Arts in Law program is to provide learners with education in the humanities field.
The Bachelor of Arts in Law program utilizes a variety of assessment methods throughout the three years of study. These assessments include formative, summative, and integrated assessments to evaluate students' progress.
Formative Assessment: This includes assignments completed in class, group projects, written assignments, and tests. Formative assessments are ongoing and provide feedback to students to help them improve their understanding and performance.
Summative Assessment: At the end of each module, students will take examination papers that typically last for 3 hours. These summative assessments evaluate the students' overall knowledge and understanding of the subjects covered.
Integrated Assessment: Integrated assessment combines written assignments with in-class assignments, which may include both written and oral components. This type of assessment allows students to demonstrate their skills in various formats and integrates different aspects of their learning.
The assessments in the program focus on evaluating students' communication skills, both orally and in written form, their use of appropriate IT tools, and their computer literacy. The assessments also emphasize critical, creative, and interpretative perspectives of the different disciplines within the field of law.
By aligning the assessment procedures with the teaching and learning strategies, the program ensures that students are able to meet the intended learning outcomes.
