Integrated assessment involves both continuous formative assessment and summative evaluation to ensure that learners receive feedback on their progress towards achieving specific learning outcomes.
Continuous Formative Assessment: This type of assessment provides ongoing feedback to learners throughout their learning process. It helps them understand how well they are progressing towards their goals and identify areas where they may need to improve.
Summative Evaluation: This assessment focuses on the exit-level issues of the qualification. It includes integrated assessments that evaluate learners' ability to integrate a larger body of knowledge, competencies, and attitudes represented by the exit-level outcomes.
Integrated Assignments: These assignments focus on assessing whether the intended purpose is achievable. They require learners to integrate a wide range of knowledge, skills, competencies, and attitudes using innovative methods.
Criteria and Methods of Evaluation: Recognition should be given to criteria and methods of evaluation that assess these integrated components appropriately and adequately. This ensures that learners are thoroughly assessed on their ability to integrate and apply what they have learned throughout their coursework.
In conclusion, integrated assessment plays a crucial role in evaluating learners' ability to integrate and apply knowledge, skills, competencies, and attitudes towards achieving specific learning outcomes.
