This includes achieving a systematic and integrated knowledge and understanding of fundamental terms, concepts, facts, principles, rules, and theories, as well as the ability to analyse, evaluate, and apply them. Students must demonstrate the ability to apply appropriate discipline-related methods of scientific inquiry, independently validate, evaluate, and manage sources of information. They should also show an understanding and application of appropriate methods to resolve complex discipline-related problems and introduce change within related practice, critically reflecting on their actions.
Moreover, students are expected to display professional and ethical behaviour within an academic and discipline-related environment, with sensitivity towards societal and cultural considerations. They should effectively communicate scientific understanding, their own opinions and ideas, and written or oral arguments using appropriate discipline-related and academic discourse, as well as technology. Additionally, students should demonstrate their ability to function effectively as a member and/or leader of a team or group in scientific projects or investigations, with self-directed management of learning activities and taking responsibility for their own learning progress.
Integrated Assessment methods include formative assessments such as assignments done in class, group work, written assignments, and tests. Summative assessments will include examination papers (3 hours). Integrated assessment will also involve written assignments and assignments done in class, both written and oral, to ensure a comprehensive evaluation of students' understanding and application of the criteria.
