Purpose and Rationale

Purpose: The purpose of this qualification is to provide students with specialised knowledge of advanced concepts, theories, models, laws, principles, skills, research methods and applied competence in the field of international trade.   • Functioning effectively as a member or leader in scientific projects or investigations with self-directed learning activities.
  • Compliance with the Assessment and Moderation Policy of NWU, aligning with SAQA level descriptors.
  • Inclusion of integrated assessment opportunities focusing on key outcomes of the qualification.
  • Formative assessment through class tests and integrated assignments up to 50% of the pass mark.
  • Summative assessment through 2 to 3-hour written examinations per module carrying a weight of 50%.
  • Submission of a research report or mini-dissertation with a credit value of 32 under the guidance of a supervisor as part of integrated assessment.
