  • Key strategies and processes: Identify and align key strategies with available resources to improve the overall performance of a tourism project, considering economic, market, environmental, and other relevant indicators.
  • Functional and strategic operational decisions: Make decisions independently or as part of a team, considering the impact on other aspects of the tourism operation or entity.
  • Holistic approach to tourism development: Demonstrate a balanced approach to tourism development that considers environmental and community harmony, and adheres to codes, policies, ethics, and guidelines for sustainable and responsible tourism management.
  • Conflict resolution strategies: Identify potential conflicts in tourism projects and propose appropriate conflict resolution strategies.

  • Conflict analysis: Research and report on conflicts between the economic benefits of marine tourism and its impact on the coastal environment.

  • Information technology: Use information technology to enhance productivity, communicate effectively, and stay updated with the latest developments in the field.

Associated Assessment Criteria for Exit Level Outcome 5:

  • Tourism and sustainability: Explain the relationship between tourism, socio-economic development, and sustainability, apply concepts of tourism management, and evaluate factors affecting demand and supply.
  • Economic impact: Calculate costs and benefits of tourism for host communities, assess economic impacts, and evaluate growth strategies and government policies.

Associated Assessment Criteria for Exit Level Outcome 6:

  • Tourist destinations: Compare theoretical approaches and practices related to tourist destination management, conduct visitor and resident surveys, and discuss the value of stakeholder clusters and destination management partnerships.

Integrated Assessment:

  • Treatise: The research treatise serves as the basis for integrated assessment, drawing from all knowledge areas covered in the course, along with case studies and practical projects.
